2017.03.05 – Who qualifies to be a Great servant of God /
--- Can God use you?

Acts 9:10-16
Saul’s Baptism
10 There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!”
“Here I am, Lord!” he said.
11 “Get up and go to the street called Straight,” the Lord said to him, “to the house of Judas, and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, since he is praying there. 12 In a vision[a] he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and placing his hands on him so he can regain his sight.”
13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14 And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”
15 But the Lord said to him, “Go! For this man is My chosen instrument to take My name to Gentiles, kings, and the Israelites. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for My name!”

Continuing on with being a Servant of God…  Do you qualify?

2017.02.26 – I am a Servant of God

February 26, 2017 @ 7:36 pm

2017.02.26 – I am a Servant of God

John 12:26 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
26 If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there My servant also will be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

Servant, not a word we like to use

Today we are going to look at three perspectives of being a slave to God.
1.    What is God the fathers perspective?
2.    What did Jesus say about it?
3.    What should Our perspective be?

Psalm 139 Beginning with Versus 1-4

The All-Knowing, Ever-Present God For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. 1 Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I stand up; You understand my thoughts from far away. 3 You observe my travels and my rest; You are aware of all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, Lord.

God is after you. He loves you. He wants to CONNECT with you.

He desires a personal relationship with you.

2017.02.12 - Connecting to God’s Love

February 12, 2017 @ 5:02 pm

02.11.2017 - Connected to God’s Love
John 3:16 (NIV)
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

How do we become convinced that someone really loves us?
    Word’s or Actions.
    Why do you believe that?
I believe that Actions prove to us and Words affirm for us.
This is why:
Husbands it is important even though you may have said it a thousand times, affirm your love for your wife.  Say the words “I LOVE YOU” and on Feb. 14 you will have the opportunity to show with your actions that you love your wife.
Wives same goes for you, affirm your love with the words and Hints for husbands Tools, Trucks, or Big Boy toys for Valentine’s day.  They don’t care about flowers or chocolate.

2017.02.05 The Voice of Truth

February 5, 2017 @ 3:49 pm

2016.02.05 – Connected – How do I know it’s Him?

How do I know His will?

John 14:26Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit—the Father will send Him in My name—will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.

This is the question of the hour for both the new and experienced believer.  I’m connected but how do I know what God is saying over this connection.

For me, I always ask the question am I listening to the

  1. The voice of God (The voice of truth)?
  2. The voice of Satan trying to deceive me?
  3. The voice of others with either good or bad intentions or speaking to me for God?
  4. The voice of me that’s always in my head?

2017.01.29 - Forgiveness

2017.01.29 – Forgiveness – A mandate for Connecting to God and essential to your spiritual health

 >>>>> WATCH THIS VIDEO: https://youtu.be/9aum9t-IPq0 <<<<<

Mark 11:25  (HCSB)

25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing. (trespasses(ESV))

Why is important to forgive others?

  • Because God first forgave us and expects it of us.
  • Because of Connection and Because it is required:
    • People will naturally avoid conflict and confrontation especially when they know they are wrong. The will go out of their way not to connect with you.  Remember having an issue with someone in grade or High School what extremes would you take not to come in contact with them.  Or maybe someone you work with.  Worse yet a family member.
    • When the shoe is on the other foot we must seek forgiveness for the same reason.
    • When there is forgiveness flows freely so do relationships.
      • Think about your most intimate friend, the closer the relationship the more we are willing to forgive.

2016.10.02 - Psalm 1 - Comfort in troubled times

October 2, 2016 @ 9:18 pm

2016.10.02 - Psalm 1 - Comfort in troubled times
Psalm 1

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
    They are like chaff
    that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Psalm 121
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
    the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

2016.07.03 - Hebrews 13:14-15 - The Patriot

July 3, 2016 @ 6:56 pm

2016.07.03 – The Patriot, This world is not my home

Hebrews 13:14-15 The Message (MSG)
13-15 So let’s go outside, where Jesus is, where the action is—not trying to be privileged insiders, but taking our share in the abuse of Jesus. This “insider world” is not our home. We have our eyes peeled for the City about to come. Let’s take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus’ name.

Church we are called today to step outside the walls and share in spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ not from the comfort of this church building or the comfort of our homes.  The battle is out there and so we must step out and meet the battle for souls wherever it is being fought.  The mission field is outside the walls and as Patriots for Jesus Christ we must go and tell.
